It differs from other heavy cotton fabrics such as denim in being a plain weave rather than a twill weave. Canvas material comes in two basic types, plain and duck. The thread in duck is more tightly woven. There are many different uses for canvas material including bags, tents, tarpaulins, covers and household products.
